a one day lecture based course.
This one day lecture class is designed to develop storage technology skills and strategies associated with managing the explosive growth of business data across the enterprise in today's networked economy. It introduces the basic concepts and terminology associated with Direct Attached Storage (DAS), networked storage including Storage Area Networks (SANs), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and internet SCSI (iSCSI). It also maps the promise of SANs to the complications of managing islands of information among heterogeneous environments with disparate operating systems, data formats, user interfaces, and limited integration of products from assorted vendors. 21, 2011: Today, TLC has announced "POWER Virtualization Technologies"
course:
IBM Power Systems with PowerVM technology demonstrated superior performance and greater efficiency in using system capacity at higher utilization, as well as at higher resource contention (over-commit levels), and superior scaling with higher throughput performance. IBM has a 40-plus year history of virtualization. No other vendor can come close to making this claim. The fact is that virtually everything they have implemented on the mid-range, has already been done on the mainframe. IBM offer one virtualization strategy, PowerVM, unlike the myriad of solutions available from Sun or HP. The technology itself uses a hypervisor-based solution (which IBM has finally implemented though Xen, but only on their x86 platform), which sits between the operating system and the hardware. This course is intended for persons who are system administrators, technical support individuals, and IBM Business Partners who implement or are planning to implement virtualization on IBM POWER Systems. 31, 2011: In the last week of January (23 - 27, 2011), TLC has imparted
IBM AIX 6.1 (Course Code: AN100) course for Alkhalij Holding, an IBM customer
in Doha, Qatar.
Alkhalij Holding recently invested in IBM POWER7 and AIX7 technologies and have selected SAP for their ERP applications with Oracle as a database server. The solution will be deployed by using IBM PowerHA for high availability. The course was conducted by Adnan Ikram that was highly liked by all the participants. This course was specially designed by GBM and was conducted at the customer location.
